1-2 Buckle My Shoe began as a challenge in the Spring of 2006. Saye Saye was planning her going away party in honor of her move from Portland, OR to Atlanta, GA. A couple friends decided they wanted to form a band to play at the party. They joked they were going to perform ten, 10-second songs. P-Dub and Saye Saye decided to form their own group to play at the party, and make it a battle of the short-song bands.
